Elevating Coloradans’ Mile High Smile Power™

Our mission is to elevate the well-being of all Coloradans by advancing oral health equity.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to have a healthy mouth.

At Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation (DDCOF), we know oral health is essential to overall health and well-being. Yet many Coloradans face barriers to care based on who they are, where they live, or what they earn. That’s why we’re committed to advancing oral health equity across the state.

What we do

We work alongside community partners so that every person can have a healthy mouth regardless of life circumstances. Our commitment is clear in our mission: to elevate the well-being of all Coloradans by advancing oral health equity.

Our Investments

We take a multifaceted approach to achieving oral health equity by investing in the areas that research and data tell us are most pressing: increasing access to oral health care, prevention of tooth decay, and anticipating and addressing oral health needs and trends.

Resources

Find everything you need — data, education materials, and our press kit — to support oral health equity in your community.

Grantmaking

It is well documented that health disparities are closely linked to race and ethnicity, income, geography, and age, and we work with community partners to impact change through grantmaking. New grant opportunity coming fall 2025.

Learning from communities to increase oral health equity.

Health disparities are exacerbated when people lack access to oral health care. We work each day to increase everyone’s access by prioritizing and funding initiatives in areas that data and research show us need attention and will address root causes of oral health equity.

Our Initiatives

Prevention

Improve oral health outcomes for children (0-9 years old) and older adults (60+ years old) through evidence-based preventive services, community engagement, and
medical-dental integration.

Accessing Oral Healthcare

Increase access to oral health services by expanding Colorado’s oral health workforce.

Proactivity

Anticipate and address oral health needs and trends.

Policy Solutions

Supporting public policy that advances access to care, prevention, and promotes equity of oral health.
