Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation announced funding awards for projects working to improve children’s oral health in local communities. Eleven organizations have received awards ranging from $1,000 – $15,000 per grant. Total award funding is $100, 962.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation has awarded $100,000 to Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) for the 2015-2016 school year. The funding will support KIND’s Chopper Topper school-based sealant program and continued partnership with Land of Smiles, a free oral health theater program presented by Delta Dental of Colorado (DDCO).

The Colorado Dental Association, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation and Oral Health Colorado today issued the following statements on the Denver Water board’s decision to continue optimal fluoridation of the system’s water. Fluoridated drinking water is proven to reduce and prevent tooth decay.

Leadville students are encouraged to take advantage of the last few weeks of summer and come back to school with healthy smiles. Summit Community Care Clinic’s Healthy Smiles Program is currently offering a variety of preventive dental health services at the new Lake County High School health center. Under the direction of registered dental hygienists Emily Milner, Amanda Hamilton and Megan Jackson, the services provided include oral health education, exams, regular cleanings, x-rays, fluoride varnishes and sealants.

Summit County students are encouraged to take advantage of the last few weeks of summer and come back to school with healthy smiles. Summit Community Care Clinic’s Healthy Smiles Program is currently offering a variety of preventive dental health services at the Summit Middle School health center under the direction of registered dental hygienist Emily Millner.

Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (RMYC) is now offering preventive dental health services at its Aurora Clinic four days each week. Dental care is available during sick visits or well-child checkups with RMYC medical providers as well as by appointment. RMYC sees children ages newborn – 18 at its Aurora Clinic. All forms of health insurance, including Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus, are accepted.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation today hosted the inaugural presentation of Oral Health Champion Awards. The awards celebrate efforts to help eradicate cavities in Colorado’s children. Two individuals and one organization were honored at the event.
