Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation announced funding awards for projects working to improve children’s oral health in local communities. Eleven organizations have received awards ranging from $1,000 – $15,000 per grant. Total award funding is $100, 962.

Summit Community Care Clinic’s Healthy Smiles Program is currently offering a variety of preventive dental health services at the Summit Middle School health center under the direction of registered dental hygienist Emily Millner.

Under the direction of registered dental hygienists Emily Milner, Amanda Hamilton and Megan Jackson, the services provided include oral health education, exams, regular cleanings, x-rays, fluoride varnishes and sealants.

Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (RMYC) is now offering preventive dental health services at its Aurora Clinic four days each week. Dental care is available during sick visits or well-child checkups with RMYC medical providers as well as by appointment. RMYC sees children ages newborn – 18 at its Aurora Clinic. All forms of health insurance, including Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus, are accepted.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation today hosted the inaugural presentation of Oral Health Champion Awards. The awards celebrate efforts to help eradicate cavities in Colorado’s children. Two individuals and one organization were honored at the event.

These dental visits take place during sick visits or well-child checkups in the medical clinic. The preventive services available include oral exams, screenings, fluoride varnishes and sealants.

Approximately $100,000 in funding is available through this RFA, with awards ranging from $1,000 – $15,000 per grant.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation, funded by Colorado’s leading dental benefits company, Delta Dental of Colorado, announced the launch of the Colorado Medical-Dental (CO MDI) Project. This five-year initiative involves the placement of dental hygienists in 16 Colorado primary care medical clinics in an expansive effort to increase access to preventive dental health services.

Village of Healthy Smiles, the Children’s Museum of Denver’s newest exhibit, is designed to teach children about dental health through engaging hands-on exploration. The experience, specifically created for children three and under, will open to the public Saturday, February 21.
