Peak Family Medicine is now offering a variety of preventive dental health services for children and adults during regular medical visits at its Montrose clinic. All forms of dental insurance, including Medicaid and Child Health Plan Plus, are accepted.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation (DDCOF) has announced the winners of its second annual Oral Health Champion Awards (video link). These awards celebrate efforts to help eradicate the most common chronic disease of childhood: tooth decay. Two organizations and two individuals have been recognized with 2016 Oral Health Champion Awards. Read about the winners in our press release.

Grant proposals of $5,000 to $50,000 are being accepted now through Sept. 1 for any Colorado-based organization or individual with an innovative approach to improve oral health in the state. The Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation Innovation Grants project will make available a total of $200,000 in grant awards.

Unique methods of delivering preventive dental services in pediatric medical settings to reduce oral health disparities are highlighted in a new report published in The Journal of Evidence-Based Dental Practice.

The results of a new study by Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation demonstrate the effectiveness of the bilingual Cavities Get Around campaign in the effort to prevent tooth decay, the #1 chronic disease of childhood and a “silent epidemic.” The study, conducted by HealthCare Research, Inc., was given to 600 low-income families in English and Spanish across Colorado, and shows significant progress toward improving child oral health by reducing consumption of juices and drinking more water.

Marillac Clinic is now offering a variety of preventive dental health services for patients during regular medical visits and by appointment at its clinic located within the Mesa County Health Department. Under the direction of registered dental hygienist Patrick Andrews, the services provided include oral health education for children and adults, exams, regular cleanings, x-rays, fluoride varnishes and sealants. Two rooms at the clinic are specifically dedicated to dental treatment. Dental care is available for patients of all ages.

Valley-Wide Health Systems, Inc. is now offering a variety of preventive dental health services to pediatric patients during regular medical visits at its La Junta Clinic. Under the direction of Registered Dental Hygienist, Charlene Pariera and dental support employee, Lisa Bensley, the services provided include oral health assessments and education, regular cleanings, x-rays, fluoride varnishes and referrals for more comprehensive dental treatment.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation was recognized as the National Philanthropy Day Colorado 2015Outstanding Foundation at the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Colorado Chapter annual luncheon on November 13, 2015.

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is now offering a variety of preventive dental health services during regular patient medical visits at its Stout Street Health Center in Denver. The Coalition is offering oral health education for children and adults, exams, cleanings, x-rays and fluoride varnishes. Services are available for patients of all ages, with a special focus on reaching children under 18.

Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation has awarded $100,000 to Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) for the 2015-2016 school year. The funding will support KIND’s Chopper Topper school-based sealant program and continued partnership with Land of Smiles, a free oral health theater program presented by Delta Dental of Colorado (DDCO).
