Terry Koele, Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation board chair, has been a financial consultant since 1995 and is currently with BOK Financial Advisors. He is a graduate of Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, with a bachelor of arts degree in business. Terry was a trustee on the Delta Dental of Colorado Board from 2000-2009. He was formerly the foundation board’s treasurer.
Cathy Garcia is president and CEO of Action 22, Inc., a regional advocacy organization in Southern Colorado. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Colorado, Pueblo, and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Academy for Organization Management at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana, and at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is on the board of directors of the Bessemer Historical Society and board chair of Unidos Por La Salud/United for Health.
Victor Lazzaro is a managing director with Denver venture capital firm Volante Capital Advisors, LLC. He has held positions overseeing marketing, finance, administration, and health care delivery. Previously, he was president and CEO of United Healthcare Corporation – Mountain States. He is an active board member of a number of charity and business organizations. He holds a master’s of business administration in finance from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s of arts degree from Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania.
Marilyn Taylor serves on the Delta Dental of Colorado board of trustees and previously served as foundation secretary. She retired in 2001 from her position as Vice President of Human Resources for Excel Energy. During her 20 years in the Denver area she has served on numerous boards, including the Colorado Ballet, The Denver Zoo, The Women’s Foundation of Colorado, the Adult Learning Source, Craig Hospital and Delta Dental of Colorado.
Dr. Scott Hamilton is the Director of the Cavity Free at Three Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1999 and completed a residency in Pediatric Dentistry. While living in Nebraska, he owned a pediatric dental practice for many years and taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry.
Dr. Eric France is the Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Product Development for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. He continues to practice as a pediatrician and is also a preventive medicine physician. His current work focuses on the value of integrated care. He is a graduate of McGill Medical School, and completed residencies in Colorado. He is an associate clinical professor of Preventive Medicine at the University of Colorado and teaches regularly. He previously served on the Denver B Cycle board and was a founding Director for Bikes Together.
Helen Drexler currently serves as president and CEO of Delta Dental of Colorado. Prior to this position, Helen served as regional vice president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she worked in a variety of leadership roles for 30 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of New Mexico and certification by Senn Delaney as a cultural transformation facilitator. Helen recently served on the Women’s Leadership Council for United Way of Greater Atlanta. She also served as chair of the board of directors of Florence Crittenton Services.
Kelly J. Brough is the president and CEO of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the chamber, Ms. Brough served as a chief of staff for Mayor John Hickenlooper and the City and County of Denver. She also served as deputy chief of staff and director of the Denver Office of Accountability and Reform for the city. She implemented the city’s new 3-1-1 customer service system and created an organizational culture that embraced performance management and continuous improvement.
Dr. Rich Call is returning to the foundation board and is also a member of the Delta Dental of Colorado board. He is currently a clinical professor in the Department of Applied Dentistry at the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado. He is a master trainer for Cavity Free At Three program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. He holds degrees from Washington University, the University of Colorado, and Ricks College. He also volunteers as a dentist for the Denver Rescue Mission and Clinica Health Services.
